CM&WA studio times

February 11th, 2010

Spent four days this week in the studio with Cameron working on the new record. The first two days were at a new place in Madison called Blast House Studios. A fantastic facility with great gear, accommodations and lighting. Next, we moved to Milwaukee for a couple days with Justin Perkins at his new studio, which is very cozy. I’ve worked with Justin on different projects for a lot of years now and he continues to be one of my favorite people to be in a studio with. Always productive and fun. Our friend Adam Plamann was able to join us for a couple of the days to add some of his magic sounds on clarinet and saxaphones. Cameron and I went to town adding more guitars keyboards, and vocals. The end is in sight…. Here are some videos.

The Driftless Region

January 24th, 2010

Just returned home from a great weekend of shows with Miles Nielsen. Thanks to Iowa City, Rockford and Viroqua for your support and hospitality. Viroqua is a mysterious place….the driftless region… something is in air. I suggest checking it out on your next weekend or holiday.
More shows with Miles this coming weekend in Madison and Crystal Lake.

If you look to your right, you will see that I have added an audio page. If you click the link you will be able to sample some of the instrumental pieces I have written and recorded. More development to come in this section of getmcmahon.com

Here is a video of some friends and I playing a Cheap Trick song. Enjoy.

Updates and Updates

November 13th, 2009

It has been a busy few weeks. Just returned from the glorious city of Nashville. Spent a few days there playing some shows with Kelly Steward, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. I just added a new video to the video stream page of Vie and Bun playing a bit together. It has been a rather amazing experience recording her.
Things keep moving along….. A few shows with Cameron McGill & What Army and Miles Nielsen coming up in the next few weeks, more recording with Cameron, more recording with Vie. There is probably a bunch of other things I can’t remember right now. 2010 is coming…which is kind of awkward. Time moves way too fast.
Lastly, A good friend of mine recently released a book, Denver’s Best Dive Bars: Drinking and Diving in the Mile High City. If you live in or ever plan on going to Denver you should buy it.

8323_177845171843_658101843_3815035_2646681_n Monday through Wednesday of this week were spent in this basement with these guys working on a list of songs that was taped to the wall. The new Cameron McGill & What Army is in early rumbles. Smiles, fights, love, lust, truth and lies you want to believe. I’m tired.
